Top Student Achievement - We Have the Best Schools in the State!

Special congratulations again this year to Elementary and Middle School staff and students for earning “Exceeds Expectations” on the State Report Cards! WI State report card uses three years of past test results from the Wisconsin Knowledge and Concepts Examination standardized test. They also assign importance to categories such as growth over time, closing the achievement gaps between student subgroups, and include measures that indicate students are on track to graduate with the appropriate skills.

Grantsburg Elementary, Middle, and High School consistently have some of the top reading and math achievement in CESA #11 (40 schools in NW Wisconsin).
IForward: Wisconsin's Online Charter SchooliForward: Wisconsin's Online Charter School

The Grantsburg School District is a pioneer in online education in Wisconsin, offering an online charter school to Wisconsin residents since 2002. The School District is honored to be able to extend the quality of our bricks-and-mortar school community to our online students across Wisconsin through open enrollment.

iForward: Wisconsin’s Online Charter School continues to serve students in grades 6-12. It operates as a tuition-free, non-profit, diploma-granting online charter school for Wisconsin students who wish to learn online instead of in a traditional school environment.  Students in grades 6-12 throughout the state can apply to enroll in iForward during Wisconsin’s open enrollment period, which runs until April 30.  For enrollment or other inquiries, please visit www.iforwardwisconsin.com.

US News AwardsGHS Among Best in U.S. in 2013

Grantsburg High School was identified as one of the top high schools in the United States in 2013. U.S. News and World Report analyzed academic and enrollment data from 18,196 public high schools in the Nation and awarded GHS the 2013 Silver Medal. High schools were evaluated on a variety of factors such as student achievement, demographics, class offerings, Advanced Placement, and college-readiness.

Previously GHS earned a bronze medal in 2008 and a silver medal in 2009. These distinctions place Grantsburg High School as one of the top high schools in the nation and in the top 7% of all public high schools in the state of Wisconsin (514 public high schools). The Grantsburg community has a long tradition of support for its school system. The investment of time, talent, quality facilities, public tax dollars, parent support, and hard work from staff and students are paying dividends for our students. Congratulations to GHS students and staff for demonstrating that Grantsburg is again one of the best high schools in the USA!

In 2013, GHS was selected as one of Newsweek’s “America’s Best High Schools”.  This Newsweek ranking highlighted the best 2,000 public high schools in the nation—those that have proven to be the most effective in turning out college-ready grads.
